Day 1 : Welcome
Free arrival at the hotel between 3:00PM and 6:00PM. Meeting and briefing with your guide at aperitive at 7:00 PM. Dinner and night in hotel La Clef des Chateaux***
Day 2 : National park and Chateau of Chambord - About 4h riding
For your first day on horseback, you ride across the Sologne, his lakes and beautiful forests. This first rythmed morning leads you on the riding paths of Chambord National Park toward the castle, where you take lunch. Chambord, hudge hunting lodge built by François 1er in the XVIth century, Chambord is now a main French heritage jewel. Visit as you like (1h30), and then go back on ride to Mont-Près-Chambord village where horses will spend the night. New dinner and night in La Clef des Chateaux***
Day 3 : Chateau of Beauregard - About 4h riding
You land on saddle on day 3 to meet Beauregard, little XVth century castle for lunch. You enjoy good canters and beautiful forest of Russy to reach lunch break around 12:00. Beauregard houses a famous gallery with 327 different portraits of historical characters, including Lapis Lazuli painting walls. After visiting (1h), you slowly leave the Sologne to enter Touraine region and reach the village of Ouchamps. Dinner and night in Relais des Landes****
Day 4 : Touraine - Medieval castle of Fougères sur Bièvre - About 4h riding
For your 4th day, you start your ride through countryside to reach Fougères village in the end of the morning. Built in 15th century by Pierre De Refuge, treasurer of king Louis XI, this georgous castle offers a Medieval-Renaissance mix architecture, very singular in Loire Valley. Visit (about 1h) followed by lunch in front of the castle. New afternoon on horseback through Touraine vinyards to reach Ouchamps where the horse will rest. New night and dinner in Relais des Landes****
Day 5 : Chateau of Chaumont sur Loire - About 4h riding
Leaving Ouchamps to cross the Beuvron in Candé, and reach the Loire banks and the magestic castle of Chaumont sur Loire watching over them. Indeed, Chaumont sur Loire was built on the ruins of an old fortress ordered by the count of Blois, to protect his castle from invasions. Your Lunch is followed by this castle and his famous gardens visit (1h30), where you can admire its tiny beautiful stables and its circle riding arena. You ride during the afternoon along the Loire banks to reach Mosnes. Dinner and night in Domaine des Thomeaux***
Day 6 : Chateau of Clos Lucé - About 4h riding
You start your day 6 by visiting magnificent Clos Lucé castle. This gorgeous Renaissance mansion has been the last home of the well known Leonardo Da Vinci. It also houses Da Vinci inventions museum. After the visit, you leave the Loire on horseback through Touraine countryside, toward south. Lunch in lovely village of Souvigny followed by another ride to reach Cher river spanned by maybe one of our favorite castle : Chenonceau. New dinner and night in Domaine des Thomeaux***
Day 7 : Chateau of Chenonceau - About 4h riding
Day 7 starts with visiting as you like Chenonceau castle and gardens at opening time to avoid to much crowd (1h30). Then, you ride along the "GR du Pays des Chateaux" and Cher banks to enjoy the magnificent view of Chenonceau arches on horseback. Country lunch in Chisseaux, before your last afternoon toward Montrichard and amazing view on its dungeon where you will end your ride around 6:00 PM.
Transfert to Maslives for motorized riders for free departure from 6:30 PM, or taxi to Blois-Chambord or Tours (not included) for non-motorized riders. You may also book an extra night to leave on D8 once well rested.
COMFORT & ACCOMODATION
Duration of the trails - 6 days riding.
Riding time - 3 to 4 hours per day.
Public - Riders must be comfortable at all three gaits in english saddle in outdoors. You must be able to safely and respectfully control your horse while posting trot and rising canter with soft hands.
Horses - Trail horses, Franches Montagnes and Franches Montagnes crosses. Educated using natural horsemanship, sure and sturdy, respectful and healthy in mind and spirit.
Tack - Trail and English saddles, saddle rugs with bags.
Guide - Our staff are fully certified riding instructors. For most of them, they are full-time resident, they are professional and friendly and they knows all the nooks and crannies of our magnificent region. They are happy to make you discover it in the best conditions possible.
Accommodation & meals
Equinature offers you a full comfort trail with 3 or 4 stars hotel with Twin rooms. All of hotels have heaten swimming-pools, Spa and hight quality restaurant. Single rooms are available on request, according to availability.
Cold homemade lunches made by our caterer ; you also may have it in local restaurants.
The three-course diners are provided by hotels or restaurants. These are gourmet meals with typical french cuisine.
Please, notice on this trail that drinks are not included and have to be ordered on-site.
