Program 2 days / 1 night

Day 1 : Vesvres Tower - About 4h riding

After breakfast, you will leave the stables after breakfast for a day across "Sancerre bocages" (woodlands) towards the XIIth century tower of Vesvres. After lunch, inhabitants of the village will offer you a guided tour of the history of this fortified castle from the Middle Ages (45min). Then it’s back into the saddle for a second afternoon across the Pays Fort region to be back at the guesthouse for 6.00 PM.

Day 2 : Sancerre - About 4h riding

A beautiful day with changing landscapes. You will cross the huge forests of the now well-known Pays Fort, to reach the Berry fields and finally see Sancerre's west side rising on the horizon. You will have lunch in the Sancerre home-made brewery overhanging valley and vineyards. Sancerre’s brewers have been making their unique beers for over a decade. Once again, the vehicle support will be available to bring any purchases back for you. In the afternoon, you will leave Sancerre by the South to come back to the stables, discovering the Chavignol village, house of the famous goat cheese "Crottin de Chavignol", on the way. Free departure any time after 6:00 PM.

COMFORT & ACCOMODATION

Duration of the trails - 2 days riding. 1 night.

Riding time - 3 to 4 hours per day.

Public - Riders must be comfortable at all three gaits in english saddle in outdoors. You must be able to safely and respectfully control your horse while posting trot and rising canter with soft hands.

Horses - Trail horses, Franches Montagnes and Franches Montagne crosses. Educated using natural horsemanship, sure and sturdy, respectful and healthy in mind and spirit. You will never find a reformed racehrose or carriage race horse at Equinature!

Tack - Trail and English saddles, saddle rugs with bags.

Guide - Ken leads on this trail. Sologne born and bred, a full-time resident, he knows all the nooks and crannies of this magnificent region by heart and his aim is always to help you discover it in the best conditions possible.

Accommodation & meals

You will stay in picturesque guest-house in Crezancy en Sancerre. The bed linen is provided, please bring your own towels. Single rooms are available on request.

Cold homemade lunches (mixed salads, local cold meats, savoury tarts and breads, traditional goats cheese, seasonal deserts) ; you also may have it in local restaurants : depends on stewardship vehicule availability.

The three-course dinners are provided by the guest-house, home made with local products . Goat cheese and wine are AOC Sancerre and "Crottin de Chavignol".
